Dr Matthew Lynch graduated as a medical doctor from the University of New South Wales, Randwick, Sydney in 1991.

After completing psychiatry training at St Vincents Hospital in Sydney he qualified as a child psychiatrist in 2002, on a fellowship.

Matthew has worked since 2001 as a consultant Child Psychiatrist in the NSW public health system (including in Liverpool/Fairfield, Coffs Harbour, Grafton,Wagga Wagga, Griffith, Sutherland shire). His specialist skills include working with young people aged 5 - 18 and perinatal clients, with the broad spectrum of mental health problems including anxiety, depression, complex PTSD, PND. As a result of this work, he has extensive experience in working with:

  • young people and their families, as well as educating and collaborating with their schools, case-managers and other counsellors
  • rural clients
  • culturally and linguistically diverse and Indigenous clients.
